Binge Eating

Binge Eating

Check out this video: How I STOPPED Binge Eating

Watch a video similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO-DFlnF_ds&feature=c4-overview&list=UUiL6WwlHv2DCGpKUjWpSXrg

I hope this video finds you well. I pray and hope that if you are facing similar challenges that you will be equipped for battle. Do not ever give up. Fight until you’re free. Know this: I love you, + God loves you.

Even if you don’t have an eating disorder, it would really mean a lot to me if you would share this video on Tumblr, Instagram, here on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook + and any other social media. I believe this video can reach lives…not because of myself, but because lots of people are willing to share this for the sake of loving others. :)

To boil it down:
-do not distract: it will only make the urges stronger
-detach emotionally from your urges
-do not analyze or try to figure out what “triggered” you to binge
Most Important: when the urge to binge comes, view it as neurological “junk” that your brain is firing off. Know that you can do nothing to stop it. Hear what your subcortex is ‘saying’ but do not act. Allow the thoughts to come- do not reason, rationalize, or distract: LISTEN BUT DO NOT ACT.

That is what worked for me. And lots of prayer. Remember that you are not alone, and if you don’t succeed try and try again. Never give up. I thought I “failed” hundreds of times. It is only failure if you stop trying. Never stop trying, you WILL break free.

Thanks for doing this. I’m not as deep as many others are but I still have some problems. But I will try to follow your advices because I don’t want to feel this way. And thanks for telling how much I am loved. I know it deep inside but it always helps to hear it once more.

I’ve read the book 1/3 the way. I’ve been suffering from BED nearly all my life and now in the past half a year (after having controlled my diet successfully for nearly 6 months and almost getting to my perfect body shape) it’s gotten more like bulimia for certain periods and I’m desperate and gaining weight. From now on I’m going to try to go by this and hopefully I can start a normal life and a normal relationship with food. I’ll return here in a few months and share my experience. Thank you.

  8. latifam55 says:

I suffer from BED. I agree with you about emotions not being the reason. I’m happy with great friends, family and life. I restricted myself for 2 years and then the binging started. There might be an emotional reason for restricting, but its not what makes you binge. I really need to get that book. Thank you so much for all help

  9. latifam55 says:

Another really important point, I believe that if you can just walk it off or write about it, then its emotional eating not binging.

thank you so much for your video. i actually cried after watching it, because i have been suffering from binge eating for the past 5 years, since freshman year of high school. i did not realize that beating the binge could be so effortless and so easy. trying to fight my urge and dealing with the emotions that come afterwards just dominated by life and required so much mental energy. but now i will no longer be worn out by them.
Thank you so so much, and God bless you. :)
